How do I get my domain name back after my refund?
-
I registered my domain name jpkeenan.com through the $99 upgrade and after extensive research, I realized I can’t upload wordpress themes from other sources if I created the domain through wordpress.com. I proceeded to cancel my pro upgrade and now I want to register my domain, jpkeenan.com through another web host so I can upload my own wordpress theme. How do I get jpkeenan.com back?

It looks like you just canceled your domain today. Usually domains canceled with 48 hours of purchased are released to be purchased again within a few days. However, we cannot guarantee this as it’s up to the registrar.
I would try waiting a day and then registering jpkeenan.com through your registrar. If you want to keep WordPress.com as your registrar, we can see if the registrar is able to restore your domain.

So I want to use WordPress to manage and control my website, but I want to use an outside WordPress theme. Would you recommend registering my domain name through another website and then mapping a WordPress to it so that I can use a theme outside of WP?

If you want to use a custom theme with WordPress, you’ll need to use a self-hosted installation of WordPress, which you can download at http://wordpress.org/
You can learn more about the difference here:
