How do I get my email forwarding to work on my newly mapped domain name?

Before (successfully) mapping my domain name onto wp yesterday, I had two functioning email forwarding accounts with my registrar (easily). These were [email redacted] and [email redacted]. I understand that I now have to enter new Custom DNS records at wp for the email forwarding to continue to work. Before mapping yesterday I got the following info. from my registrar: one A record (a string of numbers with dots) and two MX records (strings of letters and numbers and dots). I tried inputting these into the Custom DNS Records form at wp, but when I clicked ‘validate without saving’ I got an error message saying the MX and A records weren’t in the right format. Please help! I’d very very much like to get my email forwarding working again!

  • You can setup email through your new mapped domain following this guide: http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/add-email/

Make sure that you’re entering the records following the style guide below the custom DNS editor.
