  • Hi there. When I click your Home button it takes me to the blog’s front page where you have one post published. Have you managed to resolve this issue?

If you still need help with this, please let us know.

I think so although I didn’t do anything to get that to come back that I am aware of . But I do have another question. I have multiple contributors on the site could it be that another contributor had that page open and was working on it from the dashboard and that is why I couldn’t get to it?
Thanks for responding I appreciate that :o) Have a good one! H

  • There is such a thing as post locking on multi-author blogs to prevent you from editing a post or page if someone else is already doing it, but I don’t think that’s what happened here, as the default home page isn’t actually a page, but displays your blog’s feed and can’t be edited as regular pages can. This is unless you have a static page set up as your home page, but if I view your blog it doesn’t seem that way. If it happens again, let us know.

On a multi-author blog it might be a good idea to assign your contributors a role no higher than author, unless you specifically want them to be able to edit and create pages. Keep in mind the more permissions you give contributors the less control you have over your own blog, so be careful in that regard.

Great information and good advice… while I have you can I ask another question? I have 4 menu buttons and would like to have the “meet our team” located under the parent button of About but I am unable to figure out why that is not doing that. I had it all organized the way I wanted it but somehow it has gotten goofed up. I also have 3 other categories/pages I would like to be under the made.projects but can’t get them to show up underneath that parent button either. I am stumped I have read through the help sections and I am doing what it says but it isn’t changing at all. Should I delete the ones I have set up -there is nothing written on them yet and start over?

Oh wait I figured it out! Yippeee!

  • Glad you’ve figured it out :)

Here is a great resource you can go ahead and bookmark for future reference regarding custom menus, in case you get stuck with them again: http://wpbtips.wordpress.com/2011/12/19/custom-menus/
