How do i get my three featured posts on the frontpage to show horizontally?

    Dear Support,

I’ve been wrestling for a couple of hours to get my three featured blog posts to show horizontally on my front page. They’re currently listed vertically on the left below each other.
I tried a couple of things but it would mess up the drop-down menu “blog” on the top right corner.

I hope you can help me.

    Kind regards,

    Eric

    Hi Eric,

Have you taken a look at the Goran Theme support page?

    https://wordpress.com/themes/goran/

It will show you how to create the Grid Template. You need to work with Pages instead of Posts. You can find more about the difference here:

    Post vs. Page

Then, you need to set the Parent page as a grid template. Then any child pages of that parent will appear in grid form, just like the demo.

Currently you have your 3 posts set, but they actually need to be pages and set under a parent page. You can set multiple pages to your menu by creating a Custom Menu. Take a look at the link for more information.

Let me know if you have any questions with this!

    Hello Grace,

Thank you very much for you reply.
What you say makes sense but is not yet exactly what i’m looking for.

I’d like to build my blog’s frontpage as following: (see picture for explanation http://nl.tinypic.com/r/2i22yxk/8 )

Once the frontpage is set i’d like to be able to add the blog posts to their category (sport, food or mind). So when you navigate to one of the categories you’ll have a page with all the blog posts listed underneath each other, belonging to that category.

Is there a way i can make this possible?
    Thank you in advance!

    Kind regards,

    Eric

The Goran theme is not designed this way. It only shows pages, not category pages.

Unfortunately I can’t find a theme that we feature Categories pages, normally it’s either just pages or posts.

But what you can do instead is place Category Pages in a Custom Menu. That would be the next best thing. Take a look at the links for further instructions.

    Cheers!
