How do I get my writing viewed by the WordPress community if hosted separately?

    Hello there,

    I had a friend set me up a website hosted on a different host, but using WordPress. I would like to be part of the WP community (Freshlypressed/Discover, etc), but I do not see where I can do that, I don’t know if I need a pluggin for that. Would you please advice?

    Hi there,

    If you install and connect the Jetpack plugin that will allow people to use their WordPress.com accounts to follow your site, and we also feature Jetpack sites via Discover and recommended posts. Jetpack sites are not included in the tag search in the Reader, though.

    And of course you are welcome to participate in Daily Post challenges and writing prompts via your self-hosted site. That’s one of the easiest ways to directly connect with other bloggers and get them visiting your site as well :)
