How do I get people to my site?

Ok, now how do I get other people to my site????? I know it sounds dumb, but please help…

Making (serious) comments on other people’s blogs is probably a good way. Also, make your name link to your blog – if you don’t have a link to your blog – how can you expect people to be able to find it?

Speedyfit, I too am new and I haven’t visited the FAQ section either, yet…but I can help you. Think marketing every minute you are on your computer. Live, breathe, and eat marketing. Then attach a link to your email signature and email everyone you know and invite them to comment on your blog. Also whatever groups you belong to you can network there and invite others. You can also visit my blog and get some more ideas on how to get visitors/traffic. That is not a plug…, well, ok maybe it is. lol Good Luck, Speedyfit! SolarGoddess

Since you’re only 3 hours old, get listed on Google first.
Submit your site here on the right http://www.submitexpress.com/. Submit it to ONLY the top 40 search engines. They’ll ask you to paste their code on your site. I forgot now if they’re code is html or javascript. But don’t worry about that. You will then get a few emails asking to confirm your submissions. And also claim your blog at Technorati and place Technorati’s buttons and such on your sidebar. And make sure to ping your blog when you’re done updating for the day. I ping mine at http://technorati.com/ping and http://www.pingoat.com/. And email other similar sites like yours for link exchanges on each other’s blogrolls. And to get listed on search engines, try to get your blog on at least one person’s blogroll that is already listed on Google. This way when they get indexed, your site will then be indexed. And submit directly to Google as well http://www.google.com/addurl/. Where it says Comments, I didn’t know what that meant so I just placed a few tags that went along with my blog. It might take a few days to get listed. In my experience it’s taken less than a week. And NEVER buy links.

And link your username to your blog (do that on your profile page). Otherwise we have no way of knowing where your blog is, and thus no way of visiting it.

We all have two profiles at wordpress.com. One on our blogs and one here in the forum.
Here’s how to link your username to your blog in your blog -> Users -> Profile
In the right hand column locate “Website” and type in the link to your wordpresss.com blog example: http://myblog.wordpress.comLinking your username to your wp.com blog in the forum
(1) Go up to the top right hand corner of this forum page and look for “Welcome,_________ ! View your profile” and click “View your profile”.(2) Next click “edit this information”.
(3) Complete the fields being sure that where it says website that you enter http://insertyourblognamehere.wordpress.com (no period at the end or the link won’t work)
(4) Once you’re done click “Update Profile”. Voila! Now every time you sign into the forum we can click on your username and your blog will be linked to it.
(5) Also note that there is a complete record of every post that you make to the forum on your forum profile page. Everyone in the forum can access it by simply clicking on “Member” next to your username. :)
