how do i get posts into archives or back on main page

    i thought that old articles and posts went directly to “archives” after a while. they are on the main page until they work their way down to the bottom and then they don’t appear anymore. how do i get them into “archives” or back on the main page.the post in question is “the difference between the moral and the ehtical”

    Thanks for posting the complete url for the blog you are referring to. Every time you publish a post the Archives and Categories and Tags automatically update to include that data.

    If you do not place the appropriate widgets in the sudebar then you will not be able to see that the Archives and Categories and Tags have automatically updated to include that data.

    Every theme has a default display of widgets. As soon as you drop and drag new widgets into your sidebar your choices will override the choices in the theme.
    To place the widgets in your sidebar go here > Appearance > Widgets and drag and drop them into the sidebar of your blog. Click on the widgets to open them. Click “save” Click “close”.

    However, you have chosen a theme called Blix. Blix is a quirky theme http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/02/21/blix-theme-quirks/ I have viewed your blog and believe it is displaying how it was coded to display. It has another quirk at that is that regardless of which Categories you assign to Links they will only display in a single column in alphabetical order in your sidebar, without category divisions.

    Some themes have their own custom widgets and some themes over write the standard widgets. For example, Blix uses it’s own Recent Posts widget and doesn’t provide options to change the title or configure how many posts it shows.

    Bottom line: Immediately after you publish a post the Archive, Categories and Tags will automatically update. If you wish to see the results and provide visitor access to these then you must place the correct widgets in the sidebar.

    An alternative to displaying the Archives widget in your sidebar you can create a static page (I see your have done this) and use the Archives shortcode in order to have the data display. http://en.support.wordpress.com/archives-shortcode/
