how do I get rid of a duplicate page that I am using for my static page

    I am trying to set up a static front page and I have done that. My problem is that the page I am using as my static front page ALSO SHOWS UP in my site navigation bar,………. so I have 2 pages that are identical to each other, duplicates, doubles, completely the same

    HOW do I hide the page in the site navigation bar so that there is only 1 page with the information that I want on my static front page?

    I have read about the parent/child sub-page, but do not know if this will fix my problem or not and do not know how to create this.
