How do I get rid of an inappropriate link?

In the referrer section of my stats, a WebCrawler link came up to a really inappropriate website. How do I remove it and stop it happening again?

Marking spam referrers as spam referrers simply removes the reporting from your stats. It does not block them.

However, this is only removing referrers from showing up in your stats, not preventing people from visiting your site, so it shouldn’t have any impact on your site or your overall stats.
