How do I get rid of the "leave a reply" & the "edit" button on website?

I’m creating a website and at the bottom of each page is a section that says “Leave a reply and a dialog box that says “enter your comments here.” Also just above that it says “edit” How do I eliminate these sections from the website so that when I launch it people won’t see the Leave a reply section and won’t be allowed to edit the website. website is rscleaves.wordpress.com/free

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m really new to this…but I think the “edit” only appears when you (the blog administrator) is logged in and reading it. Not when your visitors are.

As for the “enter your comments here” box. From the dashboard, click pages. Choose any page and then scroll down below where you enter all your text and media. There will be a check off box that says “allow comments”. You can uncheck it.

I know at some point I came across some kind of a default box that allowed removing the comment box from all pages at once….but I can’t remember where. At least you can turn it off individually….if I come across the default setting again, I’ll post a second reply.

Hope this helped a bit. Good luck (to us both!) ;)

    Here’s what finally worked:

    Go to Pages, All Pages
    Select All
Under Bulk Actions, select Edit and then apply
Select comment and change to do not allow

Then click update, box in upper right of that menu and… voila!

    Comments were removed!
