I am in wordpress.com and I am using the press row theme. This theme has a sticky background on its sidebars. I want to get rid of the sticky or at least be able to change the colors. Change the background here:

#sidebar ul li.widget ul {
background:#F5F5F5 none repeat scroll 0 0;
}

If you want no background for the widgets, do the following:

#sidebar ul li.widget ul {
background:none;
}

Thanks 8alamal8 but I think that is in the sidebar. I am talking about the headliner. The pages in the headliner have a black square hover color and I can’t locate it in my stylesheet. I can change the text size but can’t find this square hover thing. Maybe someone could look at the page and clue me in. I’m using the Press Row theme…passions & soapboxes

What do you mean by headliner? Your navbar? If so, change background to none (remove the 2s) to get rid of the box on hover. Changing the color hex will change the color of the text on hover.

#nav li a:hover {
background:#222222 none repeat scroll 0 0;
color:#FFFFFF;
text-decoration:none;
}

Thank you ellaella that worked great. As frustrating as this is I’m starting to enjoy it. I like the feeling of accomplishment you get. I am almost done and it looks great so far. I still need to figure out how to change the text color in the navbar and the post titles but I know I will do it, someday I may even be brave enough to change the font…..not today but someday…maybe. I got over confident and tried to change the height of my header thinking I could just crop a new picture from inside custom header and that would be it. Well I found out quickly that you might change your headers height but you have to crop it to the same old size.lol

Oh is there a way to change the text size inside a widget without changing any of the other widget’s text. Probably not…must be an org. vs com. difference
