How do i get rid of the stuff on the template that I do not want.

  The features of your theme that you can customise are discussed in the theme’s support doc, here: https://wordpress.com/themes/plane/

  You can also look at the various options under Appearance and Settings in the WP-Admin dashboard (http://erleneecflowers.wordpress.com/wp-admin/)

  For anything else, you’ll most likely need to edit the theme’s CSS, for which you’ll need the Custom Design upgrade.
