How do I get rid of the Testimonials Feature from a Theme

  • Unknown's avatar

There is a theme I like, but it features Testimonials. How do I get rid of this? The theme is “Pique.”
I went to Settings/Writing to switch it off, but that didn’t change a thing.
The testimonials quote area has a link that goes to my Facebook page, if that’s helpful.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Hi there,

I’m not sure I saw a testimonial section on your site when I visit the homepage. You are referring to something that you are seeing on another page of the site? Or are you trying to remove the blog post “LOVE FROM OUR PRODUCER” which kinda looks like a testimonial?

    Thanks for the additional info!

    Hello,
    Thanks for the quick reply!

Sorry. The “LOVE FROM OUR PRODUCER” part was intentional, as part of a blog. This issue is on the other pages. The “testimonials” appear just under the title graphic (and main menu), there is a quote section (to the right of the screen) -it has a line, facebook, quotation mark (on a line, and facebook again. That pushes all of my information to the left side of the screen. When I go to edit the page, all I can seem to change is the information on the left.

    Here’s one:

    MUSIC

    Thanks again!

  • I don’t see that currently — is there any chance it was just a widget that you’ve removed after posting here?

No. I haven’t touched it, since posting. Did you try this link? https://paynomindband.wordpress.com/music/

It’s pretty big. It takes up a third of the width of the writing space. It’s on all of my pages, but the main (news) page.

Thanks supernovia. This turned out to be a Facebook widget. I had to click past information about widgets (on the menu), before I could see them.

  • I’ve take a look at that link, and oddly I do not see what you are describing. Here is a link to a video of what I see on that page: https://d.pr/v/uDpS4V

It sounds like you are seeing something different than what we are seeing. Can you share a screenshot of what you have on your end? To share a screenshot with us, you can upload it to the Media Library on your site, and then copy the image URL. You can see a video of how to do this here: https://d.pr/v/Fcnerp

Once you have the image URL just paste it into your reply and we will be able to see your screenshot.

It’s on all of my pages, but the main (news) page.

It looks like you are using Firefox on your PC. What if you try a different browser like Chrome or Internet Explorer/Edge instead? Same testimonials appear?

What if you try a different computer, or even a mobile device like your phone? Same issue?

    Thanks for the additional info!

Thanks for the reply. Yeah, a screenshot probably could’ve saved some time, for sure. I’ll keep the Media Library link idea in mind, in the future.

The issue has been resolved. The problem was a side widget. It’s a long story, but I wasn’t able to see my widgets options, at the time.

Anyway, thanks for your help. I really appreciate it!
