  how do i get rid of the thumbs up/thumbs down ratings on my blog-posts?

  You can turn off ratings from the “Ratings” tab in your dashboard, you should see two options, the first of which is: “Enable for blog posts”, and you can un-check that to disable them.

  Is it as simple to turn off the “like” button?

  The Like button will just turn off the Like button. You’ll need to disable the up/down rating system from the ratings tab.

  so good of u mac. thx. so i did the above but on the post page it still shows the “like button” even though i unchecked it in the rating system for all three options – blog, post, comments

  You can disable the Like button by going to the Settings > Sharing page from your blog’s Dashboard, and un-checking the ‘Show a like button…’ option at the bottom of the page.
