Hello!
I’m assuming you are talking about moving your website to WordPress.com, not the self-hosted version of WordPress, WordPress.org. If you are unsure, the differences between the two can be found here. I’m going to address a couple different things regarding switching your website over: the content of the old site and the domain.
If you wish, you may be able to import some content from your old website by using one of WordPress’s importers. Information regarding importing can be found here. You can also start totally fresh if you want, up to you!
As for moving the domain to your new website, you may have a couple different options: domain transfers or domain mapping.
You could use free WordPress domain until you are done building your site, then use domain transferring once you are ready for your site to have your GoDaddy URL.
Or, if you’d like to keep paying for your domain through GoDaddy, even once you are done setting up your WordPress site, you could go the route of domain mapping.
Let me know if you have any other questions!
