How do I get text to wrap in theme Mystique 2.6-wpcom?
-
I don’t have great eyesight and have to enlarge text to edit comfortably, but apparently text in this theme does not wrap. Can I modify to Mystique to make the text wrap? Or do I have to change themes?
If a CSS change is required, then what is it?
And if there is no text wrapping fix for Mystique, how difficult is it to port a website to a different theme? I’ve already done a lot of work on the articles in the site and don’t want to start from scratch.

Hi there, The Mystique theme was retired a very long time ago and while I also loved that theme (especially that very special sidebar widget!), I would suggest using a different theme at this point rather than trying to update it with CSS, which will require at least a Premium upgrade plan on your site. WPcom itself is no longer updating that theme other than for security.
Use the filters in the theme showcase to find a theme with the features you want, like a sidebar and such. https://wordpress.com/themes/ and then set up a test site, or use a spare site if you have one, and export at least a year’s worth of content from your current site to see how a new theme looks and behaves with your content rather than doing this on your active site.
I’ve also tagged Staff to advise you here on the text wrap issue and CSS question.

Wow! Thanks for the prompt reply!
Ignorant question: I’ve never ported WordPress from one theme to another. Is it difficult? Assuming some themes are compatible but not others, how do you know which themes are viable options for a port?

Hi @pluviosilla, the newer themes will change up your front to match the theme layout, and then you would edit the content and pictures to suit your own needs.
Other than that, your content will still all be there under existing links, and the old home page content will still be under “drafts” if needed.
For blogging on a free plan, personally I’d recommend clicking the “more” button on the Themes page just to see what else is available, too.
