How do I get the 2 colomns written on

Hi Ok really new here and been playing with my blog, but I am completely stuck and at a loss on what too do :( I have the rubric page but how do I get stuff like links only to the right or left side??
I think with the one I have chosen you have 2 colomns, the main big one and then a side small one?? Well the side small one I would like to be for links only…how do I manage this please
Can anyone help me??

First you need to add links to your blogroll

http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/links-widget/Then go to Appearances widget and drag the Links/Blogroll widget to your sidebar as in the video here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/Currently your sidebar just has the default widgets which are placed there automatically, unless the blogger selects which widgets he/she wants.

Ok….I think I have done all that BUT still the link done highlight themselves – ie, if you put your mouse over them, nothing happens, I would like when you put your mouse over them for the ‘hand ‘ to appear and then you click on the link and it takes you to the page in question?

Ok….thankyou for that…..I have sort of got so far still ( is it me or is it as difficult as it feels?? it does not seem very self explanatory :( ) Now then, I have put the link on the left, and it is there and the preview FINALLY appears …but why is it not in a different colour to set it out as a link?? I seem to also have some unwanted writing there, so wondering if I have put the wrong descriptions in the wrong box….

All the themes used here are designed by different authors, and each one made their own design choices. With Rubic the designer decided for whatever reason not to give the links a contrasting color in the links widget. If you hover your mouse over the link in the links widget, a grey background appears (hover state).
