How do I get the main menu items to again link directly to off-site pages?
-
The home page is designed with a menu that links to other sites. Used to work just fine – click on a menu item and it would take you to that off-site page. For some reason, it now takes you to a WordPress page where you then find the link posted; click on that link and it takes you to that site.

I’m seeing all of your homepage links working fine. Can you give me a specific example where a link isn’t working for you?

Thanks, Josh.
Yes. When I originally designed the home page, I put a menu under the picture of the painting which acts as the “headline” image. At that time, if I clicked on a menu link, it took me directly to the page linked to. But now it takes me to another WordPress page which has the link on it; I must click on that link to get to the page I originally linked to.
For example –

Sorry – here’s the example:
If I click on the link to the George R. Stewart Collection at the University of Nevada, Reno, it does not take me to that collection’s page. It takes me to this WordPress page:
http://georgerstewart.wordpress.com/the-george-r-stewart-collection-at-the-university-of-nevada-reno/I must click on the link on that page to get to the Reno Collection.
Used to directly go to the Reno Collection page. Can’t figure out why that changed.
Many thanks,
DM Scott

The home page for this weblog has a menu under the “header” picture of the painting. Used to be that if I clicked on a menu item I would be taken directly to the page linked to. Now, it takes me to a second WordPress page which contains the link and I need to click on that link to get to the desired page. For example. If I click on the link about the George R. Stewart Collection at the University of Nevada, Reno, it does not take me to that Collection's page. It takes me here: http://georgerstewart.wordpress.com/the-george-r-stewart-collection-at-the-university-of-nevada-reno/ I must click again on the link to get to the collections page.Same is true for most of the other links. Apologies for cluttering up your inbox. The reply-through-forum finally worked, so I sent a reply to you there as well, in 2 parts.
Thanks,DMS -
Just tried the Reno link, and it's apparently down. But here's one which works and has the same problem: Michael Ward's GRS pages. When I click on the main menu link it takes me here, and I then need to click on this WordPress page's link.http://georgerstewart.wordpress.com/michael-wards-fine-george-r-stewart-pages/

Ok. Give me a day or two to review this and try it out.
What’s got me confused is that I’m sure I did this correctly at first, and all the main menu links took the user directly to those off-WordPress sites. But for some reason it doesn’t do that anymore.
Let’s see how this helps.
Thanks again.

Here's a link to the current appearances – menus page. Note that there is no sign of the page that links to Michael Ward's GRS pages….but the link is still in the menu, and when I click on it now, it takes me directly to Michael's page. This is getting curiouser all the time.
I'm going to put this away for a while.

And darned if I can figure out how I did that. On the Appearance – menus part of the dashboard, there’s no way that I can see to imbed a link on a menu item. But somehow I did it with that one.
I’ll keep playing until I figure it all out. Many thanks for your help.
