How do I get the most traffic for the least amount of work?

There is no shortage of information here that relates to getting more traffic for a wp.com blog. Some of the methods are pretty easy and some are more complex. I am one who does not enjoy spending a lot of time on seo and more traffic. I am willing to accept less traffic for less work. Given that small amount of information what are some basic things that can be done to help generate more traffic that don’t require a lot of attention and time?

Leave meaningful comments that ads to the discussion of high quality blogs in the same niche as your own blog, and focus on creating relationships with those bloggers and backlink to their posts in related posts you publish on your own blog.

sorry “ads” was meant to be “adds”
The advice I posted above was based on the assumption that you are already employing basic on page SEO to your posts, and that you have structured a reader and search engine friendly blog.

You also might want to have more than three Posts on a nine or ten month old blog / site

Agreed. Having one’s posts appear on the first page of the SERPs is a function of publishing high quality fresh content that other bloggers backlink to. If you don’t publish frequently then your odd of receiving lots of traffic from search engines is extremely low. Moreover, blogging begins with a passion for something that matters. If you blog, you have a commitment to publish on a regular basis. If you don’t then don’t expect to attract subscribers. And if you do do not backlink to other blogger’s posts in posts you publish on your own blog and promote those posts throughout social networks, then other bloggers will not backlink to your posts or promote them for you. The first rule of social networking is give to get. The underlying assumption is that you do have a passion for what you blog about and do produce fresh content frequently.
