how do I get the poll to be on the side instead of inside a posting?

I only see how to insert a poll into a single posting. Is there a way to move the poll off to the side on the main page and keep it there?

You can add a Polldaddy poll to your sidebar using the Polldaddy Shortcode in a Text Widget. Please review this guide on how to do this.

I tried putting this Woodpress short code in the text box: [polldaddy poll=5296578]
It didn’t work, so I tried some other things that also did not work.

It doesn’t look like the shortcode is actually in the text widget.
Did you remove it? If so, can you please add it back so we can take a closer look?
