How do I get the text to retain the shape/format I write it in?

I format the post text the way I want it to appear, and when I publish the post it loses the formatting and looks bad. For instance, I organize the post neatly in to paragraphs, and then when I publish the post, it shows up as one blobby looking paragraph rather than the neat lay-out I had it in before pressing “publish.” Please advise.

Formatting is tricky business. Depending on how your theme displays text and images, the result may not be exactly what you entered, and there’s really no way around it besides adjusting the post after publishing, or previewing before you publish.
With that said, we do have a few themes which have a special editor style, which means what you see in the editor will almost be exactly what you see on your blog.
