How do I get the twitter widget to appear?
-
The Twitter widget will not appear on the blog page. I have entered the Twitter code several times now. I have 250×400 block suggested by the system. Am I missing something, or is this a bug?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Are you using this guide for setting up the Twitter Timeline Widget?

Be sure you take close note of this section http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/twitter-timeline-widget/#get-your-twitter-widget-id -
P.S. I forgot to add that all data is, of course, cached and that means that it does take time to update.

Thank you. I believe I have tried this several times now. The only part I am not confident about is the ‘show if’ categories at the bottom of the form. However, I have tried them all.
I have also added the ‘about’ me widget and that will not show either. -
@pmdyer,
Did you do the requisite preliminaries in each case? For the Twitter Widget:
You need to create a widget at Twitter.com, and then enter your widget id (the long number found in the URL of your widget’s config page) in the field below. Read more.
For the About.me widget:
Current [About.me] users simply copy and paste your full about.meURL in the box( http://about.me/username ) below. Or, sign up, create a page then add your full about.me URL here.

Thank you. I believe I have the preliminaries sorted. I have pasted my twitter code into the form and the about.me url. I press save. It tells me it’s publishing, then nothing. Many times over.
-
Publishing?
Where are you putting the Widget? Post and pages are published. Sidebar widgets are just saved. -
Well I’m pressing save after completing the widget dialogue box. I’m not putting them anywhere. Is this a drag activity?
-
Well, yes, you have to drag a widget to the sidebar. But I presume you’ve already done that, because widgets, my widgets at least, are disabled, without options to check or blanks to fill, etc. until they are dragged to the sidebar.
I’ll flag the thread for Staff attention, because it seem like you’re doing things correctly.
-
Thank you. I have dragged the following widgets about.me and twitter to the active area. Then I completed the dialogue boxes. Then saved. It said it was publishing. But the sidebar is blank. In addition ‘my profile’ has disappeared from the sidebar. (It is now an anonymous blog). Plus I can’t access the LinkedIn widget.
First experience is that it beginning to look great, easy to use but a tad glitchy and frustrating to get going.
-
What is “my profile”?
Don’t remove those widgets. Your Twitter widget is there. You open it by clicking on the folder button at the top of the sidebar, and close it with the three bar button.
Perhaps the reason why the About.me widget doesn’t display is that you don’t have either enough post content on the front page to allow the full sidebar to be displayed. Do you have just one post, or have you set the number of posts to display at one?

No. Forget that idea. I presume that you have removed the About.me widget, and have only the Twitter widget in place and activated now.
