Are you definitely working on another site hosted at WordPres.com as https://mdavidmerrill.wordpress.com/ has no content.
Many people that post here in the WordPress.com support forum are trying to get back to the classic editor! When you’re working on a post in the “My Sites” classic editor then clicking the “cog” top right and scrolling down should get you a link back to the Block editor. -
Thank you for your response. I think I have it figured out now. There is now some content on my site and I find that sometimes i’m in the block editor and sometimes back in the classic editor. Haven’t quite figured out how to toggle back and forth. I’m uploading and linking a number of files to the site so when I’m in the classic editor I put a note after the reference that downloads the article. But in the block editor I find that the link is in a block at after the reference, which works but is not quite so tidy. It takes time to get up to speed on a new ap but I made significant progress yesterday from no experience on WordPress to getting my site up and running as a good start. Thanks for your help.
