  How do I ensure that the website I am creating remains private and can be accessed only by me till it is ready for publishing to the world?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  In your Settings -> Reading page you will find an option to make your blog private, viewable to only whoever you choose, until you change it back to public when you are ready.
