How do I get WordAds?

I would like to set-up WordAds to put ads on my site. I believe that I am registered under thundermountainbrides.com, but would prefer to keep my website name thundermountainbrides.wordpress.com. I need help to set-up WordAds – this is way too hard. Can you help me or send me a request invitation? I followed all your guidelines, but I can’t get it to work.

I did. Can I still keep my original website address? I tried to follow the steps, and it’s too complicated. Can someone explain it so that it’s less complicated?

first you need a custom domain name mapped to a blog here – you need to put a custom name over top of thundermountainbrides.wordpress.com. – I assume that would be thundermountainbrides.com,

once the domain is mapped you can apply to WordAds – but you need quite a bit of traffic to make any ad system work

If people type the original website, will that still work? Depending on how much traffic I get, the ads will work? Do I set-up a PayPal system to get paid? I just want to make sure that people can still use my original website address. If they type that, will they get the new website address automatically?

the original URL will ALWAYS work – domain mapping just gives you a second address that visitors see when they visit – the custom URL is the one search engines index
with domain mapping – put in the old address and visitors will be sent to the custom URL – seamless – the site linked to my name is domain mapped

domain mapping is a few minutes and $ 13.- / year – first time keep the faith and read the instructions first – not very hard at all – then it take a while for changes to reach the far corners of the internet

OMG!!! HELP!!! I clicked on both my sites – thundermountainbrides.wordpress.com and thundermountainbrides.com and I can’t find my site!!! :( What happened? I thought that this was supposed to be simple! HELP!

It looks like you are mostly OK- but the name servers do not seem to have been changed – the name servers need to be changed at your Registrar not WordPress.COM – so you need to contact your registrar to have the name servers changed

this shows tucows.com – however they do domains for many web hosts – so they are probably not the ones you bought the domain from
Also – I forgot to ask – do you have email with thundermountainbrides.com?? If so there is a bit more work to do – but you have several options – some cost some don’t

OK – I canceled and refunded thundermountainbrides.com.
I should probably register a fresh domain.
But – I am scared – I typed http://www.thundermountainbrides.wordpress.com, and some of my pages are missing. Is this supposed to happen? HELP!!!

no need to cancel anything – DON’T DELETE ANYTHING
Your registrar (not WordPress.com) is who you paid to register thundermountainbrides.com – not Tucows (but if all else fails they tell you where you registered your domain name) – I don’t think Tucows is a retailer (my domain name shows Tucows – but I actually registered the domain name with my local ISP) – – –
Does WebStarts sound like a company you gave money to maybe in February?
Your name servers can only be changed at your Registrar –
The email question was not about the email you registered the blog with but are you using email with thundermountainbrides.com.? As in someting @thundermountainbrides.com. – if you are not using a custom domain name email then don’t worry
Exactly what did you cancel? Did you cancel things with WordPress.COM (here) – if so that would be domain mapping and not Registration
Since you are not sure about your Registrar then hopefully you did not cancel the Registration – canceling the Registration is very bad –
If you canceled the Domain Mapping here that is not a big deal to fix
I have also flagged this for the staff to review your account, since I cant see what you have purchased

On my end, the links that don’t work are the front page with the gun and Callie under THE COLLECTION.
I just canceled domain mapping.

http://thundermountainbrides.wordpress.com/ – loads fine for me – Domain Mapping will not delete anything from your blog, so your content should be safe unless you went into the editor and zapped some Posts or Pages
