How do I go 'live' with my blog?

Hi, I’m new to WordPress and I have just set up my blog which I can see when I’m logged in. When I log out I can’t find it using the search function. How do I go ‘live’?

Your blog is live as soon as it’s created. What search function are you using when you’re logged out?
If it’s search engines, it takes time for sites like Google to index your blog and its posts.

It won’t do, you can’t search for other blogs on the WordPress site. You can add tags and categories to your posts which the WordPress site will then index.

Ardpete, thanks for your help. But I did do a search in google too and I couldn’t find it. Do you think some of my settings are incorrect? I’m not familiar at all with internet ‘speak’ so terms like RSS and URL etc etc are like a different language which I don’t understand. Any advice would be most welcome.

As I said, it takes time for Google to show your site on their results. Keep posting, the more you post, the more posts will show up when people search for things in google.
Read this thread for more information on how to build viewership.

You have a TWO day old blog with ONE Post in it – unless you search for the Post title in quotes you will never find it – it takes 4 to 6 weeks for a new site to be fully indexed – and sites with not much content never search well
