How do I hide my site temporarily in WordPress 3.0 on GoDaddy?

On WordPress.COM you can take the third option. In my GoDaddy installation, there IS NO third option. This is a new site.

The help doc reads (at http://codex.wordpress.org/Settings_Privacy_SubPanel)
The Privacy Settings control your blog’s visibility to search engines, such as Google and Technorati. You can decide if you would like your site (blog) to be visible to everyone, including search engines like Google, Bing, Technorati, or not. If you don’t want your site available to the search engines you can block search engines, but allow normal visitors to see your site.
(followed by a picture of two options)

But that leaves no option for hiding from users, even temporarily.

The moderator, samboll, in WordPress.ORG forums posted this to the question when asked by someone else:

If you are hosted at godaddy, the samboll is wrong. Give them the link to your blog when you post over there so there isn’t any confusion on their part.
