How do I import images from a wordpress.org blog to wordpress.com?
-
I’ve migrated from wordpress.org to wordpress.com, and most of my images are now broken. I have a backup of my old /wp-content/uploads/ folder contents, but that didn’t get ported over during the import. I have 6+ years’ worth of blog posts that are now missing images. Any advice on how to remedy this without resorting to manually combing through each post and uploading the images?
I’ve been working on a mass upload of my backed up media files, but of course the file paths are now completely different… so before I go any further down that path, I’d love to know if there’s a more elegant solution available.

Hi David – When you imported your file into WordPress.com, did you check the link for “download and import file attachments”? Can you please try exporting/importing once more to see if it picks up the missing images? Let me know if it still doesn’t.
