how do I indent paragraphs

    is it possible to have a paragraph with an indentation at the beginning?

    or if I’m posting a poem, can I make the first 20 or so characters of a line be just spaces without those spaces disappearing once I save the changes?

    Are block paragraphs the ONLY way to do it?

    Please help, I’m very frustrated and having a very hard time talking about prose and poetry without being able to control where spaces go at the beginning of the line

    Blogs in general don’t use the “first line indented” style.

    If you manually edit the HTML code (using the raw editor instead of the visual editor) you can inject some CSS to control indentation.

    <p style="margin-left:0.5in;text-indent:-0.25in;">blah blah</p>

    ok, so I’m slowly figuring this out. And it’s working! You are so kind.

    (I think this wouldn’t be such a problem if I weren’t some kind of crazy lit-geek who HAS to comment on how an author indents/doesn’t indent her paragraphs inconsistently.)
