How do I insert a cut into a blog post, in 2024?

I’ve set up a blog on which I’ll be talking about movies and TV shows. I’d like to hide any spoilers behind cuts in my posts, so that in order to see them in any given post, visitors will need to click on “more” and go directly to the page for that particular post. The spoilers (and most of each post) should not be visible on the main page for my blog. This is vitally important, because not everybody has seen the same movies, and no, I’m not going to consider the idea that there’s a statute of limitations on spoilers.

How essential is this? Essential enough that if I can’t do this here, I’ll either find another host that does allow for this, or give up on the idea of writing this blog, at all. But the problem is that all of the posts I see telling me how to do this are from 2008 or earlier, and the suggestions given no longer work, at least not in the theme that I’m using (2016). Am I missing something? I’ve gone into the visual editor, looked at all of the options, and seen no option for inserting a cut.

Can this still be done, or is this another one of those cases in which a host reduced the functionality of its interface during an “upgrade” and eliminated options that were available, earlier?
