Note re: powerpoint, if you want to embed the document itself, you will have to use a third party application like Scribd or Google Docs. Otherwise, the documents will appear as a download link.

When I did some PPT with audio – I made a movie out of it with my voice-over put it on Vimeo (or YouTube) then embedded it. No upgrade required but finding a program that will record the screen image and the audio was difficult as I only needed to do a couple of presentations and did not want to pay for a high end program – anyway – did not cost me any money
