How do I insert a slider on my twenty fourteen site?

    Hi, I’d like to insert a slider on my site, but I don’t see any way to add a plugin. What am I doing wrong? I tried using customize, and slider, but it doesn’t seem to work. Can you provide some instruction?

    Hi there,

    It looks like you’ve already gotten the settings in place to have a slider work for Twenty Fourteen, you just need to add that “featured” tag to the post(s) which you would like to have show up in your slider (please note that you can set as many as you’d like, but it will only display up to three at a time).

    Thanks for your response. I’m actually trying to create a slider for photos, not posts. I found a little help from a friend, but I don’t see how to make the slider a full screen size. I’d like to have it wider–but the only thing that gets wider is the border. Also, I don’t see an html editor on my version of wordpress.

    Ah, OK. It sounds like you’re maybe trying to create a slideshow then? Something along the lines of this:

    But if you’re trying to make one that takes up the whole screen, that sounds more like our carousel. That’s where you click on a gallery image and the whole screen goes black and each image fills the screen. Users can then click forward or back for each image. We have information here on how to use Galleries:

    In regards to HTML editors, the only one we have available is on each individual page or post screen, where you can edit the html for the post you are writing. On the upper left hand corner of the compose screen are two tabs: Visual and Text. The text tab enables the html edit screen.

    We don’t have any other html editing screens which allow the editing of the core files which make up your site, I’m afraid.
