How do I insert a table in a post?

  I’ve been searching both the forums and the wider web for an answer. I really need to create a couple of large tables; and I can’t insert a published Google Doc, which is my preferred method, because the cells have links in them which open in the iframe.

  So, my only option is a table. How do I create a table?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  It always used to be you were on your own with tables. You go to the Text tab of the editor, and enter the HTML yourself. No WYSIWYG support. I checked the newer editor and don’t see anything for tables so I guess nothing’s changed.

  Hi Timethief

  Thanks for your help. It’s not that I can’t embed a google doc, I can and it looks lovely; it’s just that the last column in the table in my google doc contains a hyperlink to a tag, and when I click on it the page opens in the iframe, not in the parent.

  It’s just frustrating that we can’t create a table from within WordPress itself. I’ve coded the table and it looks okay, not as nice as the google doc, but okay. It’s just surprising that such a basic feature still isn’t available in a platform that’s been going for over ten years.
