How do I insert images into the body of my website?

How do I insert images into the body of a page? I know how to do a featured image, which appears under the title of a page. But I do not know how to insert other photos on a page. I found a link (below) that that says I have to use something called Codex. Is it as complicated as that site describes? All that is more than I am capable of handling – I don’t know enough to do these hard steps, and I would like to know if there is a smple way to add images inside the text.
