How do I insert video from TubeChop into my blog (way too many instructional videos out there and no

    Have the following two pieces of info on my TubeChop clip:

    <object width=”425″ height=”344″><param name=”movie” value=”http://swf.tubechop.com/tubechop.swf?vurl=rPN3th4xg9Q&start=3132&end=3379&cid=3998657″></param><embed src=”http://swf.tubechop.com/tubechop.swf?vurl=rPN3th4xg9Q&start=3132&end=3379&cid=3998657″ type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” allowfullscreen=”true” width=”425″ height=”344″></embed></object>

    http://www.tubechop.com/watch/3998657

    Have tried inserting just the <embed> section from the <object> thread. Have tried the gigya method with the portion beginning at src=. Seems like there are a gazillion instructional videos to be found for this on the web, but nothing works.

    Why is it so hard to use TubeChop with WordPress? Is there a way to do so that actually works? Is there some other way that WordPress recommends to clip video?

    We block certain HTML tags including the object tag at WordPress.com for security reasons as mentioned here:

    Currently, it doesn’t look like there’s a method to embed Tubechop videos at WordPress.com. However, you can embed a YouTube video if that would work:

    http://en.support.wordpress.com/videos/youtube/

    Would you be able to embed the YouTube URL for the video? I believe that video is here:

    Thanks, Jeremey. I think I saw that video posted on YouTube. It begins a little bit earlier than I would like, so I am wondering if there is a way to shave a few seconds off at the beginning.

    TubeChop seemed a good way to do this, so I am sorry to learn that YouTube doesn’t support it. Is there any similar video editor that YouTube does support?

    Also, I think I noticed that one can get the URL for particular points in the video from YouTube when it is playing. Would clipping that be the way to go?

    I think the easiest way to accomplish this would use a shortcode adjustment to start the video at a certain time. For example, you could use the following:

    [youtube= http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rPN3th4xg9Q&start=75]

    If you place that in the Text Editor of your post on its own line, it would start 75 seconds into the video so you can adjust that value accordingly. Can you give that a try?

    Thanks again, Jeremy! I think this nails it. I used the “provide the URL at current time” feature on You Tube to get the seconds in reading, substituted that for 75 in the formula provided and then inserted. The only thing I did differently was not have the = sign after You Tube. I might have worked with that, but I had the code for another snippet that I used from YouTube and it did not have the =. Thanks again! This is great information.
