How do I keep HTML code from getting in my blog from Word cut and paste?

  Something new has come up. I cut and pasted my blog copy from a Word document. When I hit “preview” it began with about twenty lines of HTML code. The worst part is: I couldn’t delete it when I edited it, as it didn’t appear on the edit screen. I ended up having to type my copy all over. Help! I don’t want to do that every time!

  Hi alancantorconsulting,

  Word adds invisible formatting to documents. In order to strip that out so it doesn’t show up when you paste it into WordPress.com (or elsewhere), you need to either save the document as plain text, or even better, use our Paste from Word button.
