How do I keep images and captions withing the borders of the text?

    my images don’t display in the confines of the text leaving image and the caption text sprawling outside of the body of text towards the sidebar

    I see it only does that with the larger images, and it seems to be a feature of the theme to display it that way. I’d suggest when you insert images, make sure they’re no wider than 474 pixels (the maximum width of your main text column). Images you’ve already inserted can be resized by clicking on the image in the post editor and then on the pencil icon that appears.
