How do i keep my blog post free?

  Hey

  New to Word Press here
  Question : How do is set up my Blog so that the public cannot post on it?
  I wanted to keep it purely and strictly as an information blog.

  if you don’t want to have comments in your post, edit your post: go to the sidebar there and look for ‘discussion’. click on it and edit from there. you have to do it for every post though.

  => Dashboard => Options => Discussion

  Note the check-boxes and remove as appropriate all the way down the page
  Usual settings for an article:
  (These settings may be overridden for individual articles.)
  * Attempt to notify any Weblogs linked to from the article (slows down posting.)
  * Allow link notifications from other Weblogs (pingbacks and trackbacks.)
  * Allow people to post comments on the article
  click on “Update Options” to save your changes on this Discussion page.

  In addition note also what sulz said above. (These settings may be overridden for individual articles.) Every time you make a post you do not wish to accept comments on before publishing it
  click on the blue button Discussion + sign to the right of the editor box and under the Categories box and uncheck “Allow Comments” then publish the post.
