How do I keep Tag Searches Within My Blog?

  • Unknown's avatar

So I am just learning how to “tag” my posts, howveer I have a fundamental question. If use a tag like “1998”- when someone clicks that tag, ALL wordpress blog posts regarding 1998 come up, when I ONLY want MY OWN posts about 1998 to come up.

How do I keep the tag “search parameters” within MY blog so it is a tool for MY readers?

    Any help os appreciated-
    Thanks
    Dave

The tags and categories either under or above the posts will lead to the wordpress global tags pages. The tags or categories in the sidebar widgets will lead to your posts on your blog only (local).

You can have all tags and categories stay local by going to settings > privacy and select “I would like to block search engines, but allow normal visitors”. This will keep all tags and categories local, but will of course keep you off of the search engines.

The global tags pages actually increase your search engine exposure (google juice) considerably. Just something to think about.
