How do I know if a comment is a scam?

    A commenter from Germany asked about the hosting service my blog is using. Why would someone ask me that via a post comment? Sounds “fishy” to me…

    That’s spam. Some common types of spam include:
    asking about your hosting
    suggesting improved SEO
    asking about your theme
    suggesting you post more often
    my cousin or other relative recommended your blog
    RSS feed references ie. saying it isn’t working

    The vast and overwhelming majority of all so-called information on the internet is spam. Over 80% of all so-called comments submitted to .wordpress.com blogs every day are spam. Spam comes in waves. There are human beings who get paid to post spam. There are robotic programs that post spam.
