How do I know if I have installed WordPress and am ready to go?
-
I have tried my best. I am all ears (or eyes) to any suggestions or help you can offer me!
I have linked up my domain name with WordPress and I think I have installed wordpress except I am having difficulty knowing how to upload my wordpress folder into my godaddy management server.
When I visit my website http://www.alexandralunn.com that I have linked with my WordPress files to the desired location on my web server. (I think I have done this) when I click on the above domain name, it takes me to my old website that I really don’t want any more.
As far as I can tell, I am stuck here on step 4 of the 5 minute install:
If you want to integrate WordPress into the root of your domain (e.g. http://example.com/), move or upload all contents of the unzipped WordPress directory (excluding the WordPress directory itself) into the root directory of your web server.
If you want to have your WordPress installation in its own subdirectory on your website (e.g. http://example.com/blog/), create the blog directory on your server and upload the contents of the unzipped WordPress package to the directory via FTP.
Note: If your FTP client has an option to convert file names to lower case, make sure it’s disabled. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Unfortunately, this isn’t the right WordPress forum to help with that problem. You appear to have a self-hosted site using the WordPress.org software, but this forum is for blogs hosted here on WordPress.com. The two versions are different and have separate forums. Please post your question at the WordPress.org forum: https://wordpress.org/support/
If you don’t have a username at that forum, you’ll need to register before posting. For more information about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org, visit: http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
