How do I know what type of widgets are available for a theme before I buy it?
-
I am not sure where to look to see what type of widgets a theme comes with. I want to make sure I can add a shopping cart and a content management opt in email service to my website before I purchase a theme. Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi Vilma,
All themes come with the same widgets. Widgets are actually part of WordPress.com, not the individual themes. So, any theme you select should come with all of the widgets shown here:

While you can sell your own work on your blog, no blogger-initiated advertising, retailing, or reselling of work created or services provided by other people is allowed on WordPress.com. You can read more about the types of advertising allowed on WordPress.com here:

If you would like to sell your own work on your WordPress.com site, this link will give you instructions for setting up a PayPal button:

If you require e-commerce/shopping cart functionality beyond this, you might be interested in a self-hosted (WordPress.org) installation. There are no restrictions on e-commerce if you set up a self-hosted WordPress.org blog instead of a WordPress.com blog, but there are some added responsibilities.
Please see this link to learn about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org:

Alternatively, you could also set-up a subdomain of your site (store.mydomain.com for example) and point it to your e-commerce store set-up elsewhere (on shopify.com for example).
If you have any additional questions about either route, please let me know!

The Follow Blog widget allows visitors to subscribe to your blog through email. All of your new posts are then automatically sent to them immediately. As for sending emails to your subscriber list, you would not be able to choose when the emails are sent.
If you would prefer to use an outside email service (like Mailchimp), this would be the best way forward:

Let me know if you have any additional questions on any or all of the information above!
