-
I have added the Sign up widget, but is there anything else required? Is the list of subscribers built automatically and where do i find it?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If anyone subscribes to your blog via the email sign up widget then you can see how many active subscribers you have by looking at the bottom of the stats page by going to Dashboard >left nav bar > Blog Stats
Here is a screen shot reference http://img714.imageshack.us/img714/2963/blogstats.png

Go to your dashboard, then click blog stats and scroll down to the very bottom of that page and it will show you how many there is for your blog and comments

Thank you t3 for your very clear reply—3 more questions if I may…
1–What is the procedure to send the actual email notification to the subscribers once a post is made?
2– Do you have any suggestions re. how to manage the subscribers’ list, i.e., where to keep it so it can be used as a group, etc?
3–What is the significance of the comments section under the number of active subscribers?
Thanks for your perspective… -
Email is sent to subscribers automatically when you make a new post.
The subscriber list is managed via WordPress.com, you don’t have to do anything extra to manage it.
The comments section under the number of active subscribers is the number of comment subscriptions for various posts on your blog. Blog subscribers are for posts. Comment subscribers are for comments on the posts. See the Blog Subscriptions and Comment Subscriptions help pages for more detail.
