How do I let my users follow my social media accounts?
-
How do I let my users connect with my social media accounts? For instance, I want a “Let’s Connect” section on my blog, in which I would have the icons for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Google+. Once my readers click on one of these icons, they will be taken to Instagram account that I have created for my blog, etc. But I cannot figure out how to do this. Any ideas?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
These easiest way to accomplish this would be to use the Create Your Own Widget tutorial here:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/create-your-own-widget/
Currently, we don’t have a default widget that includes multiple social media icons. However, you can create one using the instructions above!
Let me know if you run into any trouble.

Thank you! I was able to link my Instagram & Facebook accounts to my blog with your help :) However, the widgets are showing up in the footer and not in the sidebar, which is what I would have preferred. Any ideas about whether/how I can change this?

In fact, I can’t put anything in my sidebar. I tried to create a menu of pages on my blog & that also ended up in the footer. Is this just because of the theme that I have chosen (Esquire)?

Howdy,
Great! I’m glad you were able to create the two buttons. Yes, your theme, Esquire, only supports footer widgets. In order to have sidebar widgets, you’ll need to select another theme. Any of these here should have a sidebar:

If you have any questions regarding a theme prior to activating it, please let me know!
