How do I limit who comments on my blog?

    I am trying to set up a classblog and want to only allow students who I currently teach access it with may be a link school as well for certain topics. Is it possible to do this without getting them all to create accounts or provide e-mail addresses as this may involve some opting out for child protection reasons?

    Well, what you can do is set your blog to only accept comments from people who’ve previously had an approved comment. This will hold ALL comments for approval and then you just approve the ones from your students. All the rest stay in moderation forever.

    Do that on Dashboard->Settings->Discussion.

    I’m having a little trouble understanding that sentence.

    Doesn’t that still require a WordPress account? If I’m understanding the initial question, they want to avoid having the students sign up for accounts.

    No, it doesn’t. It’s connected to their email and/or name.

    Thank you. I’ll give it a whirl in September.
