how do I link a post to a catatory?

I have created my site using lovecraft and posted a few blogs. I want to set up pages or menus or categories and format my site for easy navigating.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

If I am understanding you correctly, I believe you want to create different categories and link individual posts to those categories. If this is the case, when you log into your sites editor, click on “Blog Posts” on the left of the screen then click “Edit” on any of the posts you have created. Once the post is open you will see “Categories & Tags” on the left of the screen, click this drop down. This will allow you to check the category or categories you have already created or create a new one. Just check the box(s) next to the category you want this post to be associated with and then click “Update”. That should do it. I hope this helped.

Thanks for responding. I was able to Add posts to catagories, but I still don’t have a category or menu bar that you can go to, to select a specific catagory. Can you go to my site to see? I see another site called hike4mom on WordPress which is how I would like to set up mine.

I see. This will depend on your particular theme. If you look on your panel click on “Customize” next to the title “Theme” on the left of the screen and then click “Widgets”. This will take you to a section that will probably have footers and sidebars. Click on one of the sidebars and then click “Add a Widget”. This will give you several options. Just run down the list until you find something with a categories list or possible category cloud if you prefer. The widget will show up on the left side under the sidebar you clicked. It should be able to click on it again and choose some various preferences.
Be sure to click “Save & Publish” when you are done and you should be good to go from that point.
