How do I link a private blog to my existing blog

Hello, I am trying to set up a completely new, private blog and link it to my existing site. The blog is for my students to upload their work and comments but I don’t want it visible to the world. Ideally the students will be able to see my public blog but have a separate area that only they can use. I tried to do this tonight and seemed to have set up a new blog ((email visible only to moderators and staff)) which vanished. Also, I am a premium member so not sure if this will allow me to custom my new private blog when I learn how to create one. Sorry to bombard you.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi kerynlc,

You can link to a private blog’s URL in a public blog. Users will need to have a WordPress.com account, be logged in, and be invited as users of that blog in order to see it. Otherwise they will be presented with a box requesting that they log in.

The blog http://kerynlc.wordpress.com/ is up and running, and if you are logged in you should be able to go to it directly or access it from the list of blogs in your admin bar.

For more information on private blogs, please see:

An outline of user roles may also be useful as you invite your students to the site:

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
