How do I link a widget image to an email address
-
Hello All
I would like to be able to place an image in my sidebar and have it link to an email address. To be specific, I would like to have an image of a suggestions box in the sidebar, then when students click on the box an email window opens up with my email as the address.
Can this be done?
All my attempts so far have just resulted in errors.
Cheers

Yes, but it is better (and easier to maintain) to just make a feedback page. When you use a feedback form/page, your email address isn’t published for spammers to get. If you put your email address on the page as HTML, then email harvesters (tools built for collecting email address) will get it and you’ll get lots of spam.
If you want to do it that way, you just add a text widget then add some HTML code like this
‘<img src=”whateverimage.jpg”>
just put your email there and your image name there, etc.
if you want to make a feedback/contact me page, just see the FAQ here

ah, the HTML didn’t work, I’ll try again
<a href="mailto:(email visible only to moderators and staff)"><img src="whatever.jpg"></a> -
Also, if you use the “mailto” link, it may not work for most people since lots of people use browser based email instead of desktop email clients (for non-work). The mailto link will open the local desktop mail client (like Outlook or Outlook Express, even if it’s not configured to send email).
