  a) upload the file and you get a link to the file/document:

  b) you can use Scribd for embed the file/document:

  Thank you. I realized that I can link to an Excel file just as easily as I can to an image. But my Mac was using Numbers, which WordPress doesn’t recognize. Fortunately, Numbers will convert to Excel, so all is well.
