how do I link domains to default to primary domain?
-
I have just purchased a second domain name. I’d like to have the internet point to my main blog whenever someone types in the secondary domain name. How do I make that happen?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there!
You can choose your primary domain name here:
https://civilrightsadvocacy.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domainsMake your choice, and then save your change.
That should do the trick! If I can help in any other way, please drop me a line. Cheers :)

Thatrobyn, I don’t understand how your suggestion would do what I want to do. I already have my .net domain name set as my default. I want my .org domain name to point back to the .net domain so that if someone types in civilrightsadvocacy.org they will be sent to the civilrightsadvocacy.net page. Just like what happens if you type in newyorktimes.com; you are seamlessly able to get to the nytimes.com page.

Ah! I see.
The domain (civilrightsadvocacy.org) is not registered here. You’ve registered civilrightadvocacy.org…without an ‘s’ between the word right and advocacy. So, your domains are working properly as you’ve registered their names…but perhaps you meant to spell the domain name differently? You don’t own civilrightsadvocacy.org. At least, you don’t have it registered with us…maybe you’ve registered it elsewhere?
If you want to cancel civilrightadvocacy.org and see if you can purchase the other name instead, here are the instructions (I can help with this if you need):

Hope this clears up the confusion! Thanks.

I just tried following your instructions. But for some reason when I click on “cancel and refund” nothing happens. I get the pop-up window where I tell it that I mispelled the domain name and then it just sits there. If I refresh the “my upgrades” page, the mispelled domain name is still listed.
Today is day two. How do I get this corrected without incurring an unwanted expense? -
I followed your instructions, but the browser doesn’t seem to work. It just sits there.
I clicked on “Cancel and Refund” on “My upgrades.” It however doesn’t go to the next screen so say it has been canceled. When I refresh the page, it still shows the misspelled domain name as belonging to me. Today is the 2nd day after purchase. How can I make sure that it was canceled so that I can get the correct spelled domain name
Thanks
Joanne

Joanne,
I’ve sent you an email to confirm ownership of the misspelled domain. The email was sent to the email address with which you registered the domain. Once I hear back from you, and receive permission to cancel the domain, I’ll take care of it.
No problem about the refund. You made your initial request in time. I’ll make sure you receive it.
In the meantime, you are more than welcome to register the domain you want.
Keep an eye out for my note! Thanks!
